I am honored and excited to serve you as the Guardian Guild President. My husband, Bryan, and I live in Salem Township and have three children who all attend LCA: Julia (5th), Natalie (4th), and Trevor (1st). We are so grateful we were led to this community in January 2022 after learning about the beauty of classical education in the fall of 2021. We have all been greatly blessed, and I am happy to give back!

My leadership background partly comes from my career in nursing. I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seattle Pacific University, and I worked as a nurse for 10 years at a Trinity Health hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. During my time there, I worked various units and served in leadership positions on my unit and on the hospital-wide Nursing Council.

As a young adult, I was drawn to leadership in student and campus ministries. During my adult years, I have helped lead young moms ministries and worked in the church nursery. I currently help facilitate women’s Bible studies at 2|42 Community Church in Brighton. From these experiences, I have garnered strong desires for interpersonal relationships, close-knit community, and the holistic well-being of others.

A passionate life-long learner and researcher, I love the essence of classical education— teaching our children to learn how to think, not what to think. I believe in raising our children to understand the importance of civic duty and the history of our country, and I serve as an election worker. I have been a stay-at-home mom since Trevor was born and enjoy it very much, but I still have an active nursing license and enjoy learning about health and wellness. Other hobbies of mine include: cooking; hospitality; listening to music and podcasts (especially related to faith, history, economics, and current issues); and spending time with family and friends.

I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Minor in Language Arts. I come from a background in retail management and teaching. I taught third grade for five years at Plymouth Scholars Charter Academy. I left teaching to become a stay-at-home mom and focus on my family and two kids. For the past six years, I have been tutoring, and as of last year, I became a substitute teacher here at LCA!

I am the coordinator of all the Guardian Guild events, such as the Back2School Roller Skate, Fall Festival, Movie Night, Valentines Family Dance, and so on.

I reside in Brighton with my husband, Dan, and our two children, John (3rd grade) and Lilly (1st grade). We came to Livingston Classical Academy because of the curriculum and the morals we wanted our children to learn that they would not receive in a traditional public school. During the summertime, our family enjoys traveling and “glamping” in our RV along Lake Michigan!

I am looking forward to many more years here at Livingston Classical Academy!

This is our second year at LCA. I am the proud mom of three children: Audrina (3rd grade), Dylan (1st grade), and Luke (soon-to-be LCA Kindergartner 2024). My husband, Steve, is a mechanical engineer, and we have lived in Hamburg Township for 7 years. We came to LCA after being dissatisfied with what we were seeing (and not seeing!) in the public school system. Classical education was new to us, and we are so thrilled to have found this amazing education for our children.

I am a stay-at-home mom, but previously I attended Michigan State University and studied Marketing. I held various inside sales roles for different companies, the most recent being for the healthcare division of Thomson Reuters. It was an amazing experience, but I was drawn to stay home when my daughter was barely one year old. Along with enjoying quality family time, my hobbies and interests include: walking our puppy Gordie, baking, gardening, sewing, interior decorating, working out, history and archaeology. Past hobbies I hope to revisit include playing viola, learning French, and taking art classes, specifically watercolor or pottery.

From day one, the community at LCA was so welcoming, and it is refreshing to be with families of similar beliefs and mindsets. I am amazed each day by the work my kids bring home and the facts they learn at school. It is truly my pleasure to work with the Guardian Guild so LCA can grow and be a strong and lasting school for years to come.

Robinson, Matt

Matt Robinson
Treasurer

It is my distinct privilege to be your treasurer.  I have been blessed
with two amazing children that have attended Livingston Classical
Academy since kindergarten.  I enjoy helping them with robotics as a
mentor, helping them with soccer and football, and their many other
activities.

For more than 20 years I have also served as a service member in the
military, first the U.S. Navy followed by the Michigan Army National
Guard.  There I found my profession...accounting and finance.  I am
glad to be able to put these skills to good use to help Livingston
Classical Academy.

Throughout my term as the Guardian Guild Treasurer I hope to help keep
Livingston Classical Academy an inspiring and loving institution.  I
hope to help build an even stronger community of staff, teachers,
parents, students, and alumni.

Teacher Liaison

I am so excited to be LCA’s teacher liaison for the Guardian Guild for the 2023-2024 school year! Over the last four years I have seen and enjoyed the benefits of the Guardian Guild’s support to our school. The Guild has provided luncheons for the teachers, conducted fundraisers to provide wishlist items to enhance our school’s curriculum, and has planned and hosted student/family activities that have been enjoyed by all. I am honored to partner with all of you as you serve our school this year.

This is my fifth year of teaching second grade at LCA and my twenty-seventh year of teaching. I have taught in parochial schools, charter schools, and a Montessori school. I feel that teaching in a variety of schools has given me a number of different experiences that have made me a better teacher. Just as schools are different from one another, so are our students. My

varied experiences have helped me to meet my students where they are at and hopefully give them what they need to continue to grow.

I have two sons, Christopher and Matthew. Christopher is twenty-eight years old and married his high school sweetheart, Kayla, two years ago after dating for ten years. They live in Waterford, Michigan. Matthew is twenty-four years old and will be marrying his fiancée, Jessica, on December 2nd of this year. They will be living in Madison Heights, Michigan. I also have a four-year-old Shih Tzu named Max who is extremely spoiled but very cute! Max and I reside in Howell, Michigan.

Again, I am happy to get to know all of you as we work together to make this a wonderful school year for all of the students and families at LCA!
